Finally....

Finally I am updated our blog. I knew this would happen.....I have fallen VERY behind in keeping our blog updated.  We have been extremely busy.  Beginning with Thanksgiving, our family has only been in town 1 weekend.  We finally have another weekend at home which means I have some time to update.

The holidays were so busy for us.  For Thanksgiving we went to Corpus Christi to spend it with Alex's family.  His Grandma and Grandpa have been hosting Thanksgiving for 61 years and everyone of them has been in the same house!!!  There are usually 60+ people at their house.  This year was on the smaller side with about 40:)
Thanks Stacy for the shirt idea..I stole it from you:)

After Thanksgiving we got ready for Christmas.  It started with Henninger Christmas at my dad's house in Dripping Springs December 10th.  We played white elephant, ate, and all the kids opened gifts.  It's always a blast.  The next weekend December 17th we were back in Austin because my sister in law, Alyssa, graduated college. Yay, congrats Alyssa.  Since that started my 2 weeks off of work Caleb and I stayed in Austin.  Alex met us back in Austin on Thursday.  Friday December 23rd we had Jones' Christmas (my mom's family).  On Christmas Eve we went to Alex's parents house for the day.  That night we spent the night with my mom and woke up Christmas morning to tons of Santa gifts for Caleb.  We went to Christmas lunch with my Mimi, then off to my dad's for the night.  All in all that was 4 Christmases for Caleb.  Let's just say he got everything he wanted.....and more.

Caleb is now 17 months old!!  Wow, how and when did this happen?  He is becoming a little boy.  I can't believe what he can do. Here is the low down of Caleb at 17 months.....

Repeating everything...including but not limited to the entire alphabet
Beginning to put words together and make phrases "Rider/Lilly outside"
Calling me "mommy" not "mama" which I think is so darn cute
I am beginning to see signs of throwing small fits (this is not fun)
Recognizes all family members in photos and says their names
Loves to color and put stickers on paper
Has an entire mouthful of teeth
Knows all animal names and sounds
Caleb finding all his farm animals

Caleb got his first "report card" from the first half of the school year.  They say he knows a lot but something I thought was hilarious was it said that he need to work on following instructions!!  What1 17 month old can follow instructions??  I guess we have some work to do.

Caleb's first semester report card:)  Notice the last note!!

There is no new news on our house.  We have had one interested buyer  but nothing has come out of that yet.  Keep your fingers crossed for us.  We are fixing to list in as for sale by owner so that we can drop our price significantly.

I go back to work Monday, which is very depressing.  I wish I could stay at home with my little man.  It will be a very hard adjustment for both of us I am sure.  I just keep telling myself that one day I will be able to stay at home with my kids.  For now, I have to work and that is just the way it is.

One of my new year's resolutions is to not ever go this long without blogging again:)

Stay tuned....

Jessica Visits and Zac Brown Band Concert

For lack of time, seeing as I am blogging in the middle of the week, I am going to keep this post limited to mostly pictures.  That is what we all like anyways.  Who wants to hear me ramble on and on.

My very best friend from college, Jessica, came over to visit with her nephew, Jayden 9 months, Mom, and Grandma.

I actually got a picture with Jayden.  He did not like me very much:(  He was not happy any time I held him or tried to play with him.  I guess I will have to see him more.

Alex and the boys

It was such a nice visit.  Jessica now lives in Houston, so we don't get to see each other as often as we would like.

This past weekend Alex and I went to the Zac Brown Band concert.  Our friend Sean came down from Kansas along with his sister and some friends.  We had such a blast, to say the least.  I took Caleb to my Aunt Linda's house Saturday afternoon and he spent the night there.  She said he did great!  They snuggled a lot, which makes me so jealous because at his age our snuggling moments are few and far between.  He is always on the go.

The Boys

I love this man so much.

Thanksgiving is sneaking up very fast.  Alex, Caleb, and I will be traveling to Austin and Corpus Christi to spend time with loved ones.  I am looking forward to seeing all of our family.  Living here in Dallas as the holidays approach makes me want to be back in Austin so badly.

Halloween and 15 Months

This past weekend Kiki (my mom) and Caca (my sister) came to visit.  It is true, Caleb calls Casey, my sister, Caca.  I think it is quite hilarious.  Casey on the other hand doesn't find it so amusing.  I am sure we could teach Caleb how to say Casey, but Caca is so much more fun!  It was a pretty relaxing weekend.  We ordered pizza Friday and watched the Rangers, sigh.  Caleb was thrilled to see them both.  It helped they came with a bag of goodies for him.  Lots of new books his favorite, and a new pair of shoes, his second favorite thing.  For some reason Caleb is fascinated with shoes.  Saturday we had my school carnival and just us girls went out to dinner and grabbed a drink afterwards.  This was so nice.  I can't remember the last time I got to spend girl time with my mama and sister.  I was very sad to see them leave on Sunday.

Kiki and Caleb (the cutest puppy ever). Kristen painted his face which stayed neat for about 2 seconds before he had it smeared all over.

On Halloween night we went to a friend's house, had dinner, and went trick or treating to a couple of houses.  Caleb did great!  He even tried to say thank you a couple of times.

Caleb had his 15 month check up this week.  He is growing so fast.  I can't believe that it has been 15 months!!  He is perfectly healthy.  He weighed 27 pounds which puts him in the 88%, he is 32 inches tall which is the 77%, and he is in the whopping 96% for head circumference.  If you have ever met Alex you know where he gets this from.  I guess this is why he is the smartest 15 month old ever:)

Getting Caught Up

I am a little behind in blogging.  Here is what we have been up to the past two weeks......

Last weekend Papa and Sharon came to visit again.  My Aunt Linda, his sister, turned 60 on October 14th.  In addition to coming to visit Caleb, my daddy surprised his older sister by coming into town to celebrate with her.  He along with his brother and 4 sisters were all at dinner for the big Happy Birthday surprise.

Caleb showing his belly off at dinner!

Before he left on Sunday he made us fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, and rolls.  Caleb loved every bit of it.  Between him and Alex there was not much left over:)

Papa, Sharon, and Caleb. Papa is such a proud Grandpa.  It makes me so happy to know that Caleb has so many people in his life that love him so much.

Caleb had his first bloody nose.  He fell at school while on the playground.  This turned into a pretty nasty bruise that made him have a black eye.  I did not think at the time to take a picture of it:(

Along with his first black eye, Caleb is learning so fast.  I can't even begin to tell all the things he can do.  It seems like everyday he can do or say something new.  It is absolutely amazing.  I wish I could push the pause button so I can take it all in and enjoy everything he is learning.  I know all moms say this, but he is so smart.

Alex and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on October 20th.  We have been together for 12 years and married for 4.  Talk about how time flies.  I thank God everyday that he put such a great man in my life.  We actually got to go on a date on Friday.  A dear friend of mine with her daughter came to babysit.  She text me around 8pm and told me Caleb was in bed.  I was shocked!!  Well, we get home a little after 9:30pm and he is up all smiles.  I guess he had her fooled.  She did say that she would babysit once a month for us, so it must not have been so bad.  She also commented on how smart he was:)

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch despite all the mud from Saturday's rain.  Even with all the mud Caleb had a blast.  Here are a couple of pictures of our day at the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina, TX.
He actually sat still for this picture.

Just like his toy tractor...he loved this.

Posing with him pumpkin like a proud little boy.
Apparently the stranger we asked did not realize Caleb needed to be looking at the camera as well, thanks anyways.

Timeout and Weekends

I am not sure how young is too young for time out.  This past week Caleb bit another child at school and his teachers put on his form he got time out.  I was a little shocked by this, thinking he was way to young for time out and who was daycare to be putting my baby in time out.  After talking with my calmer, more level headed husband I got over it.  The next day Caleb and I get home and were playing, and he bit me!!  I thought what the heck I'll give this time out thing a shot.  I put him in a "time out" spot, and to my surprise he sat there without a fuss.  When Alex got home later that evening I told Caleb to show Daddy where time out was. He went right back to that spot.  Is this a sign that my son is spending a lot of time in time out at school, or is this a sign he is extremely smart and catches on well????  To be continued......

Again I have to say how much I love the weekends.  Being a working mom, the weekends are a time that I cherish greatly.  Caleb is growing so fast, and I want every extra minute I have to be spent with him and Alex.   We had another busy weekend spent with visiting family from out of town. On Friday night we went to my cousin Andrew's football game and Saturday we were at Burleson Founders Day.  Here is a picture reel to sum it up.....

Caleb LOVES books. This is him at the football game reading a book with my cousin Aaron.  This was one of the sweetest moments ever.  Aaron just loved that Caleb wanted to sit in his lap and read.

Andrew, Aaron's brother, is a freshman at St. Andrew's school in Austin.  He is the starting quarterback on varsity.  We are very proud of him and excited for the bright future he has.   This is Caleb and Andrew after the game at Dallas Episcopal.  Cute, they both have the same hair do:)

Dancing with Daddy at Burleson Founder's Day. Alex had to go work at his Health Source booth so Caleb and I tagged along.

I am sure Caleb would love to have a puppy, but Mommy and Daddy say NO WAY!

His first carnival ride with Aiden.  These were actually death traps because they were so old.  I can't believe that I let him get on it.  I don't think he was too impressed.

This kid loves animals.

This is what he does to Lilly.  A calf might not like it as much:)

Say "cheese" for the cowboys.

Time for Rangers and Aggies!!  We hope to go to the pumpkin patch tomorrow.  Stay tuned.......

Surprise Visit

I love the weekends!!! I have the BEST family in the entire world.  Most of our extended family live in and around the Austin area.  This weekend we were very lucky to see several of our family members.  On Friday night Mimi, Aunt Connie, Uncle Mace, and Macayla were in town visiting my cousin Miles who moved to Dallas this past summer for a job.  Alex, Caleb, and I went to Miles's apartment in down town Dallas and met everyone there.  From there we went to dinner at Primos on Mckinney Ave.  It was great food and even better company.

Caleb Peek-A-Boo - Here is a link to a facebook post of Caleb playing Peek-A-Boo with the table cloth at Primos.

Saturday I drove to Abilene to visit my Great Uncle Dean and Great Aunt Sue.  I met Aunt Mary in Eastland and rode with her the rest of the way.  Several of us met in Abilene including my dad.  After lunch we were all going to go our seperate ways to head back home. Some going to Belton, some to Austin, some to Waco, and me back to Dallas.  I was joking with my dad about how he should just come back to Dallas for the night (which would end up being over 3 hours out of his way).  Well, he did!!!  He is such a wonderful Papa that he would go that much out of his way to spend a couple of hours with his grandson.  We got back to my house around 7 Saturday night and he left around 11 Sunday morning.  Now that is love.  Caleb showed off all his tricks and Papa loved it.
Papa got a spot cut off his nose:(  We put a bandaid on Caleb's nose so they could be twins.  Lesson learned: Always wear sunscreen!!!!

What a busy weekend we had at the Klein house hold.  We are so blessed with such wonderful family.

Welcome to Blogging!

Well I finally broke down and decided that our family needed a blog.  So here we are! Most of you know we welcomed our first son, Caleb, July 30, 2010.  He is now almost 14 months old.

10 things Caleb can do.....

1. Walk
2. He can say several words: mama, dada, cracker, Papa, Rider, Lilly, Caca (Aunt Casey), Kiki (my mother), Gandma (sounds like mama but we count it), Buddy, Elmo, Ernie, uh-oh, agua, apple, nana (banana), Austin, ashes ashes (from Ring Around the Rosie), shoes, socks
3. He makes several animal sounds: cow, duck, horse, goat, dog
4. Opens/Shuts doors
5. Climbs onto the couch
6. Sleeps through the night (this took awhile so we are very happy about this)
7. Uses a spoon
8. Drinks out of a real cup (not without a mess most of the time)
9.  Understands simple commands (Daddy is waiting for him to go get a beer out of the fridge - for Daddy not Caleb)
10.  Identifies nose, eyes, ears, head, and pooh pack (belly button)

The newest happening in the Klein household is that we put our house on the market.  Alex and I REALLY want to move back to Austin in a year.  Having your house on the market is not an easy task, especially now days. We have faith that all will work out in our favor.  If you know anyone interested in buying a home in Carrollton check us out!

Stayed tuned for more Klein Family Fun!!
